Singer-songwriter Kristie Francis has a quirky, off-beat, gutsy way of seeing ordinary people, relationships and events, and inventing impossible ones. It’s hard to tell them apart, but that’s OK, because it doesn’t matter – even the fictional stories are “true” in their own way! You will probably see in her songs many people you know, including yourself!

Love the photo of you. Love that you’re in the festival. Sending love.
Big K! Looking good. Have a blast.
Your songs are so creative and hilarious! Wish I could come down from Portland!
I sure wish I could attend this festival because I’ve missed seeing you perform. I love your sense of humor and your quirky lyrics. It looks like lots of fun.

I saw Kristie’s promo bit last night….and now I’m going to her show to see the whole darn thing!
Last night was the first of my four performances – it was really a lot of fun! I didn’t mess up too many words or chords, and the audience was energetic and upbeat – they smiled a lot, sang along (not required), laughed in the right places, clapped at the end and said nice things afterwords. So I’d say it was a success all the way around! I have another performance today (Mar. 4) at 6:15 and two more next weekend – come and join us!
FYI, the Kings River Life magazine (online) is doing a good job covering the Rogue, and a couple of articles are about my show. Two different issues: Feb. 18 and Mar. 1 or 2. kingsriverlife.com
Also, I’m going to be one of the five Rogue poets in the “Beat Down Poetry Slam” competition on Monday Mar. 5 – come and root for our team!
I saw the March 4 show and lauged and giggled. I enjoy participatory sons as well, so that was fun. Loved the lyrics, especially the one about the teacher–I am part of a family of teachers. Go see this show. You will love it. What was really cool, too, is that Kristie was on just befor Lynn Ruth Miller. Talk about a double whammy.
I was finally able to catch Kristie’s complete show last night, and it was very entertaining. This is not a highly polished production, but it is entertaining, creative, funny, and most of all authentic. I really appreciate shows where people put themselves out into the community to express themselves in some true form–to me, that’s a big part of what the Rogue Festival is about–and what Kristie has to say, and how she says it, is worth listening to. I found myself thinking over many of her topics and themes after the show, and appreciating the way she handled the material. Her humor is subtle, but thought-provoking. It’s well worth the time to spend 45 minutes with Kristie with a K.
